Mini Vinnies 2025-26

Introducing our Mini Vinnies this year…

Mini Vinnie Meetings

We had our first meeting today. The children prayed together and discussed how our meetings run. We thought about some ideas for the coming year and how we can follow our Catholic Social Teaching as Mini Vinnies.

Mini Vinnie Commissioning Service

Today our wonderful Mini Vinnie took part in their commissioning service, this involves making promises to live our their Christian faith and to follow our Catholic Social Teaching throughout the year. Afterwards the children sang the Mini Vinnie song.

Macmillan Morning

Our Mini Vinnies ran another very successful Macmillan Coffee Morning today. They were so helpful and they chatted to all the lovely parents and carers who came along for a cup of tea and a yummy cake.

Mini Vinnie Healthy Tuck Shop

The Mini Vinnies planned a healthy tuck shop to raise money for The Charlie and Carter Foundation. One of our lead Mini Vinnies has close connections with this charity and in our meeting suggested we raise money for them. The tuck was a real success with children buying healthy and nutritious snacks whilst also following their Catholic Social Teaching Values.

Prayer Group

The Mini Vinnie chose to think about being thankful for todays prayer group, we listen to Colossians which reminds us to be thankful and to use our gifts to praise God. The children then wrote on a slip of paper a reason they are thankful this year. We linked them all together to make a St. Oswald’s thankful chain.

Prayer Garden

The Mini Vinnies helped to plant flowers in our prayer garden as all year groups at St. Oswalds would like to gather in the garden to Celebrate the Word. What a wonderful opportunity to carry out our Catholic Social Teaching of Stewardship!

Mini Vinnie Tuck Shop

The children all helped to run our healthy tuck shop and raised an astounding £84.00- another example of how our children carry out their Cathoilc social teaching values.

Ou Mini Vinnie Meetings

During our Mini Vinnie meeting this week we firstly started with a prayer then discussed our agreed Lenten activies. After much discussion the children decided they wanted to run a health tuck shop and all profits will be donated to Pawz for Thought- an animal charity who care for sick or unloved animals.
