Welcome to St. Oswald's Catholic Primary School

Welcome to St. Oswald's Catholic Primary School.

Thank you for your interest in our school. We are a Catholic school for children aged 3 to 11 years, serving the Whiteleas, Biddick Hall, Holder House and Boldon areas.

We aim to provide an education within an environment which is a living example of Gospel values. We welcome children of all faiths and beliefs.

We provide pupils with a full and enriching curriculum and give children the skills and enthusiasm to pursue learning for the rest of their lives.

We hope to welcome both your child and your family to become part of our school community. Sharing in the excitement of your child's education is a wonderful gift.

We hope your association with our school is a long and happy one.

About Us

We are very proud that our school is named after St. Oswald, who set a very good example to all of us in the way he followed his faith.

Saint Oswald was King of Northumbria in the 7th century. As a local saint, it is particularly relevant that we know the story of his eventful life and enduring faith.

Our school community is inspired by St. Oswald's example and by our mission to walk in the footsteps of Jesus.

Pastoral Care

Safeguarding

Safeguarding our pupils is our number one priority. All staff are trained in safeguarding procedures and our Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher are Designated Safeguarding Officers.

We also have a link governor for Child Protection and Safeguarding. As a school, we work closely with South Tyneside Council and Clennell Education Solutions Safeguarding teams.

We follow the guidance of Keeping Children Safe in Education and regularly update our safeguarding procedures to ensure school is a safe and secure environment for all.

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

We believe that all children have an equal right to a full and rounded education which enables them to achieve their full potential.

Our SEND Co-ordinator works in partnership with parents and carers to ensure needs are identified and plans are developed to meet them. We also have a link governor for SEND.

Mini Vinnies

Mini Vinnies are a junior section of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. They promote Christian love in action and help children find ways to support those around them.
